We were looking for a fire pit we could take around on our travels that would pack up small but also be great for cooking on as well as a fire to keep us warm in the evenings.  When we sourced our Drifta DOT camping trailer we decided to also invest in a Snow Peak Fire Pit.  We have used this many times in Western Australia and now for the last 6 months travelling around Australia.

The Snow Peak Fire Pit is a great Japanese innovative design that is simple, practical and folds up to a good size that you can take anywhere.  We love the fact that the cooking bridge and grill just work by fitting on top, so no messing around trying to make anything fit.  We also appreciate the base and legs giving it the right height as well as not damaging the grass underneath.

You can purchase the Snow Peak Fire Pit in different sizes and with many accessories, the kit we have shown you here is called the ‘Luke the Drifta Fire Pit Combo’.  The Combo kit I believe now comes with a Snow Peak bag rather than a Drifta bag so if you want the Drifta bag pop a note in at checkout and if they can I am sure they will send that one.

We would recommend the large size Fire Pit which is great for two but also when you have more people with you it works well.  On a recent weekend trip we were joined by Brett Hooker in his DOT 7 Equip trailer and Tofty in his DOT 6 Independent Suspension (Toft Model), where we also used the Snow Peak Field Oven.  Our plan was to pick one of these Field Oven/Pizza Ovens up on our way past Drifta HQ however we are struggling a bit for space so decided it will have to wait until we get back to Perth.  One night we cooked Pizza and the next night Brett popped a Lamb and Beef roast into the Field Oven.  This is an amazing add on piece of kit for the fire pit and we had both awesome pizzas and an outstanding roast dinner.
